Fractionated CO2 Laser Resurfacing
At Amachi MedSpa, our Fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing is used to resurface skin and remove skin imperfections. It is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, uneven coloration, skin laxity, textural irregularities, and dull tone of the face, neck, chest, and hands.
How Does laser skin resurfacing work?
Laser stimulates production of new collagen within the skin to replace damaged or old collagen. The new collagen and the body healing response results in wrinkle improvement or removal and skin tightening.
What is Fractionated Laser vs Full surface Laser
In Fractional C02 Laser resurfacing, the laser beam is broken up into many small micro-beams. These micro-beams remove micro columns of skin, leaving the skin surrounding each column intact to aid in the healing process. The intact or untreated skin promote a much more rapid healing. In full surface, the entire surface of the skin is removed by the Laser. Healing is prolonged. We do not offer full laser resurfacing.

What to Expect during your Laser treatment
All fractionated C02 Laser treatments are performed in an outpatient office setting. Our procedure room is fully accredited by AAAASF. Most of our patients can tolerate the treatment with just oral sedation and topical anesthesia. Some patients prefer or require the procedure with intravenous sedation administered by an anesthesiologist in our outpatient setting or under general anesthesia administered in an operating room. Our patients began a Seven-day course of prophylactic antibiotic and antiviral medications one day before the procedure. They arrived one hour before their scheduled treatment, at which time they received preoperative medications including the topical anesthetic applied to the treatment areas.
Just prior to the treatment, protective eye shields are placed to protect the eyes. During the Laser treatment, we also apply Forced cold air our Zimmer cooling system to further lessen patient discomfort. Patients usually tolerated the treatment well when given the anesthesia described above; however, some patients required additional local anesthesia.
At the comclusion of the treatment, protective eye wear is removed. We then apply the occlusive healing ointment. Postoperative instructions are again reviewed and the patient is discharged home. Our patients ate seen at the office in a few days to make sure healing is going well.
