What to expect during Ultherapy treatment
During your Ultherapy treatment, ultrasound gel and the treatment applicator will be applied to the skin. Using the ultrasound technology within Ulthera, our technicians can see deep into the skin. This helps us determine the best placement for the treatment energy. This energy is then delivered under the surface of the skin.
You may feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths throughout the treatment. This feeling indicates that the collagen-building process has begun. Each patient’s comfort level is different, and some prefer to take pain medications prior to treatment.
The length of treatment is dependent upon the size of the treatment area and your specific treatment plan. While a face and neck treatment could take between 60-90 minutes, a chest treatment may only take 30 minutes.
What to expect after Ultherapy treatment
One of the best benefits of Ultherapy is that there is virtually no downtime. Following treatment, you can return to your normal routine and schedule.
Some patients may experience some redness, but that will fade within a few hours. Some patients also experience tingling, swelling or tenderness to the touch. These symptoms are mild and temporary and should fade in a matter of hours.
Other side effects may include numbness or bruising, but these are less common. As with any treatment, other rare side effects are possible. Our Plastic Surgeons will review any and all possible side effects with you prior to treatment.
